Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

We have experience in fast paced design environments, utilising advanced tools for quick and efficient turnaround, optimization, and simulation validation.

Our expertise in marine CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) includes:

Aerodynamic simulations: sail and wing propulsion, windage, exhaust

Hydrodynamic simulations: free surface, self-propulsion, multi DoF, movable appendages, transition, cavitation, ventilation, seakeeping, powering

High fidelity simulations coupled to physics engine

Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI)

Optimization (mono and multi objective, direct or surrogate approach), applied to aero and hydrodynamic simulations, from 2D sections to hulls and sail/wing trims.

Simulator

Artemis Technologies simulators ensure optimal correlation and project efficiency, prior to build; as well as providing the opportunity to train skippers and crew ahead of sailing new vessels.

Our highly detailed dynamic models and realistic sea surface description are tightly linked to the visual system, creating a perfect match between sea surface appearance and feel. Dynamic water modelling depends on changing physical wind parameters (force and direction) in addition to swell. Multiple simulators can be combined in a shared scenario and additional boats can be inserted.

Artemis Technologies can build a bespoke physical model of any customer vessel, and to provide a truly immersive experience, can create a realistic platform for the helm and crew, that has an identical look and feel to the real deck or cockpit.

Design Optimization

Artemis Technologies can provide an optimisation process where our engineers can look for incremental gains by creating and testing multiple iterations of the client’s vessels and appendages.

The optimisation process uses state of the art modelling tools, including Fluid Structure Interaction, section shape optimization, and detail optimization using RANSE CFD.

Control Systems

Artemis Technologies offers expertise in control strategy, software architecture and hardware.

The complete control system (hardware and software) is tested and validated using our simulator before it is deployed to the vessel.

Structural Engineering

Structural design and analysis using state of the art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods is a crucial part of our design process.

Fluid Structure Interaction is accounted for and integrated with our performance prediction tools to provide accurate simulations of structures under load. Parametric CAD solutions and automated post processing tools are used to further streamline the analysis process.
