Artemis Technologies has been awarded the prestigious Maritime 2050 Award at this year’s Mersey Maritime Industry Awards, widely recognised as the leading regional maritime awards in the UK. The accolade, sponsored by the Department of Transport, recognises Artemis Technologies’ commitment to helping to deliver the UK maritime sector’s long-term strategy, Maritime 2050.

David Tyler, Commercial Director commented:

We are extremely proud to have received the Maritime 2050 Award as we continue to work towards furthering our end goal of maritime decarbonisation. We are very pleased that our efforts so far are being recognised and we greatly appreciate this display of support. On behalf of Artemis Technologies I would like to congratulate all of this year’s finalists and winners.

The Mersey Maritime Industry Awards (MMIA21) acknowledge and celebrate the very best of the UK’s maritime industry and are widely recognised as being the leading Regional Maritime Awards in the UK. Mersey Maritime’s 2021 awards were the organisation’s 7th annual awards event and they have played host to a number of companies in the maritime sector.

The theme for 2021 was ‘Building Back Better’ aligning with the UK government’s strategy for growth, whilst celebrating and reflecting on the resilience, innovation and vibrancy of the maritime and logistics industry.

Chris Shirling-Rooke, Chief Executive of Mersey Maritime, said:

The Mersey Maritime Industry Awards are the culmination of a long process for our finalists, and we were deeply honoured to be able to offer this fitting recognition of the industry here in the Northwest and far beyond. It was inspirational to see such excellence clearly on display in the room at our awards and the passion our fantastic industry has to drive forward post-pandemic recovery and play its part in continuing to build the economy that is so vital for us all.

The Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2021 was live streamed as part of London International Shipping Week 2021 and can be viewed on their website. The finalists videos can be accessed here
